Testimonials

Rose runs the music therapy program, including planning and leading group music therapy sessions as well as individual sessions. The residents and staff speak highly of Rose and one of the therapy team said, “Rose always plans wonderful and interesting sessions.” Rose is always willing to work with the teams in her facilities, while being independent and a self-starter.

Rose leads both group activities and one-on-one sessions. Our residents have always loved music, but Rose brings a new dimension to the activity. She has residents expressing their ideas, their dreams, and their wishes who do not say much to anyone else.

She plans her activities to meet the needs of the residents, whatever those needs are. She has sung to dying residents and they died peacefully a few minutes after she left. She always encourages the residents and validates everything they accomplish.

She has residents compose their own songs which they sing to familiar tunes. She provides excellent documentation of her activities.

Rose has added such quality to the lives of our residents. She is dependable, professional, kind, and easy to work with. Staff and residents alike are excited to see her each week.

I have seen Rose work both in a long-term care setting with a large group of individuals, and in a smaller setting with people who have Alzheimer's and Dementia. She is interactive with our Alzheimer’s Program and connects them to the moment. She talks with each individual during her sessions and encourages them to become involved in answering questions about music, playing small instruments like shakers, tambourines, and bells. The residents remain engaged during her hour-long session, whereas often keeping them on task with other activities can be difficult because of their attention span. The benefit of her program is beyond measure.
